Post-extractivist architecture and city:
Realizing that by the year 2049, the Metropolitan Area of the Valley of Mexico is expected to reach its “Day Zero,” having depleted its water resources, a new form of peripheral urbanity is proposed: the decentralized urban village.
Based on a modular and grid-like scheme that allows for expansion without creating high density, this model envisions a self-sustaining agricultural city. It is inspired by a mat-building strategy and elevated platforms designed to enhance water collection during the rainy season.
