This house was designed for a very charming couple without children living with them, who wanted to renovate the house to contemporary standards. We were introduced through mutual acquaintances, and they were charmed by my design style, which was translated according to their wishes and needs. The clients are very satisfied with the result and enjoy their life in this spacious villa even more. Given its proximity to the beautiful beach of Biarritz, neutral colors and materials were chosen to extend this coastal style into this elegant home. The ornaments and moldings perfectly match this more Belgian neutral style, and the client's decoration adds the necessary touches of color.

General description of the project

Style of the project:
Contemporary style with neutral tone-on-tone materials. A nod to the building's architecture, such as the repetition of the window arches in the doors of the master suite. Combined with the client's decoration, who likes to mix different artists and appreciates original photos and artworks, such as Blase's work in the dining room and Romina Ressia's photos in the kitchen.
Owners desires:
The house is very spacious, and the client mainly wanted to create welcoming spaces, making the sometimes overly large rooms feel warmer. This is why a dining/living room was designed in a way that doesn't immediately give the impression of being a dining room, and the kitchen was moved from one of the hidden back rooms to become an open kitchen. Through the use of materials and the concealment of appliances, the technical aspect of the kitchen is hidden, making it a true living kitchen. Additionally, I had a lot of freedom for the interior design.

Inspirations:
The original architecture of the building, with its curves and arches, is reflected in the interior. The spaces were also designed to draw the eye towards the windows, aligning the views outward. Furthermore, the materials were kept very neutral to highlight the architecture.
Favourite elements:
The windows translate into arches, and small details like the curves of the solid travertine stones, the massive pillars around the cabinets, as well as the use of tone-on-tone materials that exude calm, warmth, and timelessness. The client's art and decoration were meant to take a prominent place in the house.
