An apartment that combines past and present where the transformation of the layout has kept only the sleeping area intact.

The main request of the young family who owned the property was to reduce the existing partitions to a minimum in order to create a large open space that could give vent and visibility to their hobbies and passions. Cinema, music, collections of comics and vintage objects find space in every corner of the house.

Another request was to create an intimate and domestic environment but which at the same time lent itself to smart working which would allow free rein for inspiration and creativity. The long corridor was demolished thus obtaining the open space where there is a minimal kitchen characterized by the island on which almost all the functions are located.

The ancient 1950s majolica that characterizes the rooms of the house were preserved and kept in excellent condition throughout the course of the works, especially those in the living room which were combined with a new and modern resin flooring, composed of greige and dove grey, making the atmosphere nostalgic and contemporary. The choice thus reaffirmed the other details of the house in a modern key, such as the desire to expose the reinforced concrete load-bearing structure that cuts the project in half.

Un appartamento che si combina tra passato e presente dove la trasformazione del layout ha mantenuto intatta solo la zona notte.

La principale richiesta della giovane famiglia proprietaria dell’immobile è stata quella di ridurre al minimo le tramezzature esistenti al fine di ricavarne un grande open-space che potesse dare sfogo e visibilità ai loro hobby e alle loro passioni. Cinema, musica, collezione di fumetti e di oggetti vintage trovano spazio in ogni angolo della casa.

Altra richiesta è stata quella di creare un ambiente intimo e domestico ma che al tempo stesso si prestasse ad un lavoro in smart working che lasciasse libero sfogo all’ispirazione ed alla creatività. Il lungo corridoio è stato demolito ottenendo così l’open-space dove trova spazio una cucina minimal caratterizzata dall’ isola sulla quale trovano spazio quasi tutte le funzioni.

Sono stati conservati e mantenuti in ottimo stato, durante tutto il corso dei lavori, le maioliche antiche anni ’50 che caratterizzano gli ambienti della casa, in particolar modo quelle del salone alle quali è stata accostata una nuova e moderna pavimentazione in resina, composta da greige e tortora, rendendo l’atmosfera nostalgica e contemporanea. La scelta ha cosi riaffermato in chiave moderna anche gli altri dettagli della casa, come la volontà di portare a nudo la struttura portante in cemento armato che taglia a metà il progetto.
