In Rudersberg, a joint new building is to be constructed for the volunteer fire department and the DRK. We have designed a versatile building that creates separate courtyards for both uses and makes the existing site its own.

In relation to the surrounding nature, the new building, which is largely designed as a timber frame construction, is to have a timber façade. The vehicle halls also rest on wooden beams and supports. All flat roof surfaces will be greened and equipped with photovoltaic systems. The sloping terrain is cleverly used by staggering the storeys to create different levels for the vehicle halls and courtyards for the various uses.

The new building in Rudersberg is home to both the volunteer fire department and the German Red Cross. There are six indoor parking spaces and an additional, separate washing area for the fire department, while the hall for the German Red Cross has four parking spaces. The required ancillary rooms, storage and changing rooms are assigned to both halls. Some parts of the three-storey building, such as the training room with kitchen, which is accessible via a shared foyer, are used by both units.
