Low cost eco house (hobbit house, hill house) based on a sea container | Stanislav Morgun
Moscow / Russian Federation
Houses based on sea containers have become popular in recent years.
The concept of a house-hill (Hobbit House) and the use of inexpensive large-format materials make it possible to significantly reduce the cost of construction and operation of the house, as well as speed up this process.
1. The hill serves as heat and sound insulation. Residents of rammed earth houses note the coolness in the summer and low heating costs in the winter. In addition, due to the large mass, vibrations are dampened - for example, from a washing machine.
2. Finishing with large-format panels (for example, 2.5x1.2 m laminated fiberboard) allows you to implement different interior options quickly and inexpensively - due to simple installation and an abundance of different textures - wood, marble, stone or monotonous.
3. Various waterproofing options are possible. Use of used banners (possibly in several layers) have become widespread in independent construction due to their very low price (from 40-50 rubles/m2) and durability - in the absence of UV radiation (in this case, the earth layer protects from sunlight)
It may be necessary to reinforce the walls and roof. Or a wall of Big Bags/bulk gabions with soil can be installed around the perimeter, which will take the pressure of the hill.
