Project Description

In the Chiaia district of Naples, an 85-square-meter apartment is spread over two levels: the "public" area on the ground floor, with reception, waiting room, and studio, and the private area, created thanks to the high ceilings that allowed for a mezzanine with a bedroom, master bathroom, walk-in closet, and small kitchen. The two areas are connected by a sculptural red lacquered metal spiral staircase, a bold color choice for such a space. Red is a leitmotif throughout the apartment, found in the reception desk made of red French marble, the window frames, and the staircase. Other colors, such as wisteria, sky blue, and turquoise, evoke the sea of Naples, creating a unique atmosphere. The apartment, conceived as a cabinet de curiosités, hosts a collection of objects, such as medical instruments, vases, and shells, carefully selected not to overwhelm the spaces.
