The project is developed in an old warehouse between party walls, located in the expansion area of the municipality of Ulldecona. This area was commercially developed due to the advent of the railroad at the end of the 18th century, which led to the construction of buildings intended for commercial and transportation uses, characterized by their large doors and industrial dimensions.

The space, now converted into a residence, has housed various uses throughout its life, such as storage for a family liquor company and a graphic printing business, practically until the present day.

Living in this space involved respecting and enhancing the feeling it conveyed, maintaining the unique existing structure of both the roof and the brick pillars, while at the same time achieving a close relationship between the new interior spaces and the exterior patio area.

With these priorities, the housing program is organized with a very open and diaphanous distribution that achieves privacy where required, dividing spaces with minimal enclosures.

The bedrooms are located in the first access strip from the street, in a compact way, housing the staircase that gives access to the central area of the floor. In the center, the entrance area is organized with closets integrated into the walls and the dining room, a space limited in height by the second level (loft) of pine wood. In this central and island-shaped area, the bathroom core is organized, separating the common kitchen and living room area from the bedrooms, providing them with privacy while generating the laundry and pantry space in the form of a wide equipped hallway. In the third area, and separated only by the volume of the bathroom, the kitchen with an island and the living room area with a wood-burning fireplace are organized in a double-height space, all facing the fourth and last strip of the floor, which includes an outdoor terrace.

The materiality of the project is kept as simple as possible. The new elements are metallic (black), wood, or beige/white, creating a neutral background to naturally highlight the existing stone and brick elements.
