Apartamento Flora | VAGA Arquitetura
São Paulo / Brazil / 2023
The apartment, which had already undergone modifications to its original layout to suit a previous resident, now belonged to a new owner seeking a renovation that could express their individuality and reflect their essence through a fresh architectural narrative.
One of the most significant interventions was the redesign of the outdoor space—previously underutilized—which now takes center stage in the property, becoming an ideal setting for hosting guests. The wooden and glass canopy was restored, and a slatted wood ceiling was added, allowing generous natural light to flow into the space. The area now features an integrated barbecue, an outdoor dining table, a wine cellar, and a beer cooler.
In the interior, one of the upstairs bedrooms was converted into an office with a built-in bookshelf. At one end of the space, a large sliding door was installed, ensuring a smooth integration between the areas while also allowing for moments of privacy when needed.
The master suite underwent a layout reconfiguration, including the addition of custom cabinetry for the headboard and a reading armchair, creating a functional space conducive to relaxation and comfort.
The selection of furniture and objects was carried out in collaboration with the client, prioritizing pieces by Brazilian designers. Notable items include coffee tables made of marble and steel, designed exclusively by VAGA Arquitetura for this project.
The renovation project not only transformed the apartment aesthetically and functionally, but also created spaces that embrace the resident's daily routine and inspire moments of relaxation and socializing.
