Majamaja village is a collection of housing units built in the Helsinki archipelago, operating completely off-the-grid and independently. The prefabricated cabins were transported and assembled in an exceptional location with no road access or ground sanitation. Each cabin is built around a patented autonomous sanitary-kitchen module, coupled with an energy storage system and a wastewater treatment system. After this pilot village, Majamaja plans to expand its evolving concept to other sensitive or challenging environments.
