Casa en Tres Ríos | César Béjar

The particular way of response to the context evoke different manners of how the architecture is expressed.  Willing to be the simplest household in the neighborhood, he house is free of the ornaments that the different materials tend to evoke, its quality lies in being monochrome.

A solid mass inserted between party walls seems to float, as if trying to find lightness in its condition of being heavy and at the same time retracts to be slightly less visible, but inevitably breaks the surrounding plasticity through the contrast of color, shape and texture.

Its only window is composed of a horizontal opening and a zenith opening, both looking at the same point, as if two eyes were looking through the same lock at the same time, successively, the entire window is pushed and it protects from the southern sun and shades itself.

Built on a plot that is longer than it is wide, patios and terraces open to the house, all spaces always turn towards a contained and isolated exterior. The patio has the quality of being private and quiet, but without losing its exterior condition, these are contemplation spaces par excellence, its condition makes them places capable of being enjoyed from the interior spaces as if it were outside.

The constant of the patios and the exteriors intensifies when their qualities fall on the texture, the color and the vegetation. Its interiors devoid of color and texture play the role of blank canvases. The atmosphere of the house comes from the colors. Between the pink of the patios that bounces and enters the house, and that of the direct overhead yellow light that combines with pink and averages the tones on these neutral surfaces. Giving as a result, a soft warm atmosphere, changing depending on the natural light and the passing of the day. These tones are modulated by small blue windows that intensify the color variants and complement the warm tones.

The two double heights intertwine and connect the whole house. When entering and looking up, the gaze is lost and the house is prolonged, the feeling of narrowness is muffled and its condition finds freshness as a result of this spatial quality.

La respuesta al entorno y el particular entendimiento del contexto suscitan distintas maneras en como la arquitectura se presenta. Deseando ser la más sencilla de todas las viviendas del barrio, la casa está exenta de los ornamentos que los diferentes materiales suelen evocar, su cualidad recae en la monocromía.

Una masa solida inserta entre medianeras pareciera flotar, como intentando buscar ligereza en su condición de ser pesada y a su vez se retranquea para ser ligeramente menos vista, pero inevitablemente rompe la plástica circundante mediante el contraste de color, forma y textura.

Su única ventana, es compuesta por un vano horizontal y un vano cenital, ambas miradas hacia el mismo punto, como si de dos ojos viendo por la misma cerradura al mismo tiempo se tratase, a su vez, toda la ventana se remete y se resguarda del sol del sur y se hace sombra a sí misma.

Construida en un terreno más largo que ancho, a la casa se le abren patios y terrazas, todos los espacios voltean siempre hacia un exterior contenido y aislado. El patio tiene la bondad de ser privado y callado, pero sin perder su condición de exterioridad, estos son sus espacios de contemplación por excelencia, su condición los convierte en lugares capaces de ser disfrutados desde un espacio interior como si se estuviera afuera.

La constante de los patios y los exteriores se intensifica cuando sus cualidades recaen en la textura, el color y la vegetación. Sus interiores exentos de color y textura juegan el rol de lienzos en blanco. La atmósfera de la casa proviene de los colores, entre el rosa de los patios que rebota y se mete a la casa, y el de la luz directa amarrilla cenital que se combina con el rosa y promedia los tonos sobres estas superficies neutras. Dando como resultante, la aparición de una atmosfera cálida suave, cambiante en función de la luz natural y el paso del día. Estos tonos son modulados por pequeñas ventanas azules que intensifican las variantes de color y complementan los tonos cálidos. 

Las dos dobles alturas se entrelazan y conectan toda la casa. Al ingresar en ella y mirar hacia arriba la mirada se pierde y la casa se prolonga, la sensación de estrechez se amortigua y su condición encuentra frescura como resultado de esta cualidad espacial.
