Pabellón para el buen dormir | WHALE!
Tunquén / Chile / 2023
A pavilion for a good night's sleep requires an eastward orientation, to awaken with the morning sun.
For a restful sleep, it's not necessary to have total darkness, but rather the muffled sound of the sea at our backs
and the fatigue induced by the deep sight of the Casablanca estuary.
For a summer nap, it's necessary to be within a ravine
and feel the coolness of a bedroom without north or west,
with currents of fresh air crossing the space for a cold breath,
as in a great flying bed over the wetland
that gathers us inebriated and covered up to the neck,
After celebrating the days, the nights, and the stars.
The proposal condenses the architectural program into 35 m2:
a bedroom, a living room with a kitchen, and a bathroom, all gathered in a single space
adjacent to the main house built by the office some years ago in Tunquén.
A semi-covered terrace, a darkroom for photography,
and a cellar complete the project, entirely developed in pine wood.
