A palette of warm neutrals, incorporating neoclassical elements Bucharest / Romania / 2024

The 3-room apartment, 65 sqm, is located in the center of Bucharest and is available for long-term rental. Our clients, the owners of the apartment, bought it for rental and investment purposes and wanted a premium apartment designed for long-term rental.

Together, we opted for a minimalist design using a palette of warm neutrals, incorporating neoclassical elements with the profile frames on the walls and neo-oceanic features like the graphic wallpaper and the organically shaped carpet in the living room.

The apartment underwent a refresh and a partial renovation. The light fixtures were completely changed, and in the living area, we built an archway behind the sofa, which also includes a storage space underneath, hidden by the sofa. The walls have been completely repainted, the parquet floor refurbished, and the doors have been replaced with filomuro doors.

In the open-plan area, we needed to include several functions (living room, kitchen, dining) in a relatively small space, so we opted to integrate the table and the island into one cohesive unit. The metal legs of the table feature sculptural shapes based on our designs.

In the bedroom, to save costs, the existing wardrobe was kept, but the doors and handles were replaced, and visible sides were added using the same material - a melamine chipboard with a slightly metallic, very smooth, and elegant texture. This gave the furniture a fresh, new look.

A desk or makeup table is also integrated into the bedroom, in a corner of the room that we highlighted with slightly darker paint to distinguish its different function. The center lighting is by Dia Buga, a Romanian object designer.

The gold accents of the handles and light fixtures in the desk area, along with the wall profiles and light metallic textures of the furniture, add a touch of timeless elegance to this bedroom, designed in classic shades and lines, perfect for a rental apartment.

The office is sparsely furnished to keep it versatile for tenants.

The bathroom is not pictured because it was not remodeled and was not part of the project.
