The Turenne project was the second flat I designed for this client. He wanted a very soothing space with many natural materials. We made sure that all the walls were lime plastered, the floor was covered in solid wood, carpets out of wool and alpaca, while metal was the main material used in the kitchen. The custom made furniture has been manufactured in solid wood and finished with natural paints.

I love the fact that the appartement has a very smooth and calm shell in beige and natural tones. In addition to distinct colored treasures, such as carefully selected new and vintage pieces of furniture, the entire interior is complemented by a cutting edge art collection.

You enter the appartement through a rectangular and perfectly symmetrical entrance with a beautiful mirror in your axis. Symmetry is an important element in my work as it brings harmony. To the right you enter the dining room and kitchen through a large gypsum arche. To the left you enter into the large living room. From the living room you walk further through another arche to access the library / study with an access to a small but very cute bathroom with a large traditional window. If you walk back towards the entrance you have 2 large double arched doors which give access to the night area. To your left a first bedroom with its own washbasin open onto the bedroom and to your right the master bedroom. In the master bedroom we wanted the bed facing the window and create a real cocooning feeling. Hence we designed a long curved wall for the bed head creating a specific enveloping atmosphere. To the left hand side of the bed you access the dressing and to the right the bathroom.

My choice of materials and colors is often quite instinctive when I work on a project. I have  a vision when I visit a space and it becomes my narrative during the whole design process.

The natural light was accentuated by the right use of curtains and blinds, with very delicate colours and quality fabrics, for example the living room curtains are all made of 100% wool.

My style is very much in the attention to details, proportions, materials and colors. Symmetry, elegance and the feeling that „it has always been there“ are also important factors when I draw a project. I am always considering the uniqueness of a location, the history and specificity of an existing  structure and carefully listen to my client, who also has his past, personality  and desiderata.
