The CDA Corporate Office project, located in the heart of Polanco, Mexico City, represents an architectural exercise aimed at harmonizing modernity with tradition within a structure built in the 1950s. This law firm is situated in a functionalist building, where the preservation and updating of the original architecture were central to the design approach.

The project focused on preserving the original architectural elements while incorporating contemporary details to create an environment that reflects trust and vitality. The choice of materials, such as the stone known as recinto, which dominates both the facade and the interiors, underscores the building's solidity and the firm's identity. This material is complemented by light oak woods used in carpentry, creating a warm contrast with the austere elegance of the stony gray.

Natural light plays a fundamental role in the design, especially on the east and west facades, where floor-to-ceiling windows have been preserved to allow natural light to flood the spaces. On the west facade, facing Goldsmith Street, a lattice made of solid Tzalam wood planks was designed, which not only adds a corporate aesthetic but also provides privacy for the offices.

The journey from the entrance to the reception is marked by natural elements such as vegetation and a water mirror that flows under the staircase, where a piece of art by master Saúl Kaminer is prominently displayed. Kaminer’s background in architecture allowed him to create a work that harmoniously dialogues with the space.

The architectural intervention focused not only on aesthetics but also on functionality. The ground floor opens completely to the garden, with spaces such as meeting rooms and a kitchen that integrate with the terrace. This openness to the outdoors responds to the client's organizational needs, providing a space for interaction and a healthy and stimulating work environment.

The spatial layout is efficient and clear, with a central corridor that divides the meeting rooms from the offices, culminating in a double-height area that gives hierarchy to the main meeting room. Vertical and horizontal circulation has been maintained, respecting the original design concept of the house, enhancing the spatial experience on both the ground and upper floors.

The furniture, mostly designed by Branco Estudio, stands out for its contemporary and timeless elegance. The art curation, led by Marcela Cauduro, director of Branco Arte, includes works by Saúl Kaminer, Ricardo Pinto, and Héctor de Anda, adding layers of sophistication to the space.

The challenge of executing this project in record time, amidst the complications caused by the pandemic, was successfully overcome. The rapid completion of the project not only met the clients' expectations but also established CDA Corporate Office as a benchmark for integrating architecture, interior design, and art in a workspace.

The result is an environment that not only provides elevated status to those who work in it but also inspires aspirations. The careful selection of materials, the integration of natural elements, and the respect for the original architecture make this law firm a contemporary, solid, and enduring space.
