Together with its client, BEHF Architects has developed the PADO Galleries, a highly attractive retail centre next to the PADO Shopping Park on the busy A4 (Ostautobahn). With the neighbouring McArthurGlen designer outlet frequented by millions of customers a year, the property offers a unique and highly marketable location.

The PADO Galleries will provide around 21,000 square metres of rentable space for about 30 shops. The architects have created a pleasant, clearly organised atmosphere in the interior. The tenant mix includes numerous high-quality brands. The highlight of the property will be an outstanding food court. On 32,000 square metres in total, customers will not only find an array restaurants, but also a large covered outdoor terrace with an event area and a large animated water surface. This synergy between shopping and gastronomy will create a unique experience for future visitors. Additionally, 800 partially shaded parking spaces will be available.

The chosen architectural language has resulted in a practical U-shaped design with a cantilevered canopy that enables future visitors to get dry-shod from one shop to another. Irregular openings in the canopy allow daylight to reach the terrace floor and create a playful atmosphere. Painted in a striking red colour, the canopy plays an important role in making the centre attractive and inviting along the busy highway.
