Le Residenze Mizar sorgono nel cuore della città di San Donato Milanese ai margini di Milano. 

San Donato Milanese, un piccolo paese nelle campagne a sud del capoluogo lombardo, ha visto stravolgere la sua struttura nella prima metà del 20º secolo quando Enrico Mattei decide di stabilirvi il quartier generale dell'ENI.

È grazie alle qualità visionarie del suo fondatore che sorge gradualmente attorno ai primi palazzi dell'azienda energetica il quartiere di Metanopoli. 

Il quartiere, in anticipo sui tempi per la sua progettualità, prevedeva la costituzione di residenze integrate nel paesaggio, immerse nel verde e fornite di tutti i servizi.

Le Residenze Mizar sono uno degli esempi meglio riusciti di questo progetto, per la struttura di pregio dei 3 edifici che le costituiscono, il grande parco privato e la posizione vicino ai principali servizi.

La qualità degli edifici è confermata dall'adozione di soluzioni costruttive decisamente pionieristiche per l'epoca. 

Ogni piano dei tre edifici si struttura in 3 appartamenti ciascuno di volumetrie differenti, 4, 6 e 7 locali, di cui i due più grandi dotati di doppio ingresso. La planimetria è stata studiata attorno ai pianerottoli dei palazzi in modo che ciascun appartmento abbia in comune con l'adiacente una sola parete offrendo quindi una eccellente separazione.

Anche le scelte tecnologiche degli impianti sono molto significative. Il sistema di riscaldamento è garantito da un impianto comune con tubazioni nei soffitti di ciascun appartamento. Ogni palazzo è coibentato dall'esterno tramite un guscio con intercapedine che crea assieme al sistema di riscaldamento un unico equilibrio termico interno.

L'impianto per l'acqua termica  ha un unica caldaia per i tre edifici. Per uguagliare i tempi di arrivo dell'acqua calda anche per gli appartamenti più distanti è stato studiato un ingegnoso ricircolo di acqua calda per tutte le tubazioni.

Residenze Mizar are located in the heart of the city of San Donato Milanese on the outskirts of Milan.

San Donato Milanese, a small town in the countryside south of the Lombard capital, saw its structure changed in the first half of the 20th century when Enrico Mattei decided to establish the headquarters of ENI there.

It is thanks to the visionary qualities of its founder that the Metanopoli district gradually rises around the first buildings of the energy company.

The district, ahead of its time, provided for the establishment of residences integrated into the landscape, surrounded by greenery and equipped with all services.

The Mizar Residences are one of the best examples of this project, due to the prestigious structure of the 3 buildings that constitute them, the large private park and the location close to the main services.

The quality of the buildings is confirmed by the adoption of construction solutions that were decidedly pioneering for the time.

Each floor of the three buildings is divided into 3 apartments each of different volumes, 4, 6 and 7 rooms, the two largest of which have a double entrance. The floor plan has been designed around the landings of the buildings so that each apartment has only one wall in common with the adjacent one, thus offering excellent separation.

The technological choices of the plants are also very significant. The heating system is provided by a common system with pipes in the ceilings of each apartment. Each building is insulated from the outside by a shell with a cavity that creates, together with the heating system, a single internal thermal balance.

The thermal water system has a single boiler for the three buildings. To equalize the arrival time of hot water even for the most distant apartments, an ingenious recirculation of hot water has been designed for all pipes.
