Located in an area where severe seismic regulations and cultural heritage limitations take place, this project aims to deliver a contemporary design while addressing these design constraints as well as challenging sustainability goals.


Key sustainability features include:


- minimization of the embodied carbon of the construction: the entire structure is made of wooden CLT panels


- 100% electricity: the house is operated using 100% electricity of which 50% from PV panels


- reduction of water consumption: native plant species requiring minimum water have been selected and rainwater is collected from the roof and used for irrigation


- top energy performance: the house achieved the best performance according to the Italian energy rating system (A4).


- minimum excavation works and 100% excavation soil has been reused on-site.
