Chic Vid House | STD Design Consultant

Situated in a vibrant area of Ho Chi Minh City, the Chic Vid House occupies a narrow site measuring just 3.9 m (almost 13 ft) in width but extending to 19.6 m (64 ft) in length. The logical design response was a long and slender residence.
The home's exterior boasts several small balcony spaces adorned with greenery thriving in built-in planters, complemented by teak shutters forming the operable facade.

"The house captivates passersby with the impactful simplicity," elaborated STD Design Consultant. "Foldable teak facades offer both sun protection and enhanced ventilation. Translucent teak facades are selected not just to block direct sunlight but also to maintain visibility. Utilizing laterite stone for the facade, a common choice in tropical regions like Vietnam, aids in temperature regulation. Each material is thoughtfully employed to enrich the rustic charm of the facade."

The Chic Vid House spans five stories within. The interior decor is elegant and understated, with furniture meticulously arranged to complement the narrow layout. On the ground floor, a play area provides children with a secure space, adjacent to the kitchen and dining area for easy supervision by parents. Glass doors open onto the rear garden, seamlessly blending indoor and outdoor spaces.

The upper floors, meanwhile, contain the bedrooms, the living room and an office, which boast choice views over the rooftops. The uppermost floor consists of a small rooftop terrace and dining area with a canopy for shade.
