Casa Isola | Punto Zero

The entire intervention develops around the central island, a large capsule placed in the center of the apartment which becomes a material element, also underlined by the cladding in solid oak slats, and acts also as a separation device between the private (sleeping area and bathrooms) and the common living spaces.

A sort of which hides and contains inside a small guest bathroom, with a dark green grit floor and concrete gray walls - and a home-office corner set up with a desk for remote working, which can be opened with two panels book.

“The curved and gentle profile softens and dialogues with the angular shapes of the building, with its recesses and protrusions, the beams, the pillars and the lowered slabs” - add the architects.

Transformation is another key theme of this Punto Zero project: the island can be completely closed, underlining its architectural presence, or open up and modify the perception of space, unrolling on its own skin and becoming a panel that separates the kitchen from the night corridor.

The kitchen space is also designed so to be changed, through two large sliding panels contained in a light gray lacquered wood plating, with vibrations towards light blue - which mark the kitchen and the dining room.

The materials

The natural light oak parquet of the floor, suggested to Punto Zero the use of natural solid oak as covering for the central island.

The other materials are a mix of very neutral lacquers, in shades of light grey, with a hint of blue, to play on the chromatic contrast with the warm nuances of the wood, and the deep gray of the large kitchen island.

In the bathrooms, resin surfaces alternate with grit on the floor or covering. In the bedrooms, fields of color, with clear cuts on the walls and ceilings, define areas within the children's rooms.

Tutto l’intervento ruota intorno all’isola centrale, una grande capsula posta al centro dell’appartamento che diventa un elemento materico, sottolineato anche dal rivestimento in listelli di rovere massello, che funge anche da dispositivo di separazione tra il fronte privato (zona notte e bagni) e lo spazio living.

Una sorta di scrigno, che nasconde e contiene al suo interno un piccolo bagno ospiti, con pavimento in graniglia verde scuro e pareti grigio cemento - e un corner home-office allestito con una scrivania per il lavoro remoto da casa, apribile con due pannelli a libro.

“Il profilo curvo e gentile ammorbidisce ed entra in dialogo costante con le forme spigolose dell’immobile, con le sue rientranze e sporgenze, le travi, i pilastri e le solette ribassate” - aggiungono gli architetti.

Il trasformismo è un altro tema cardine del progetto di Punto Zero: l’isola può essere completamente chiusa, sottolineando la sua presenza architettonica, oppure aprirsi e modificare la percezione dello spazio, srotolandosi sulla sua stessa pelle e diventando un pannello che separa la cucina dal corridoio notte.

Anche lo spazio della cucina è concepito per poter mutare, attraverso due grandi pannelli a scorrimento contenuti in una placcatura in legno laccato grigio chiaro, con vibrazioni verso l’azzurro - che segnano la cucina e la sala da pranzo.

I materiali

il parquet in rovere chiaro naturale, richiesto dai clienti per il pavimento, ha suggerito a Punto Zero l’uso del rovere massello naturale come rivestimento dell’isola centrale.

Il resto dei materiali sono un mix di laccature molto neutre, sui toni del grigio chiaro, con una punta di azzurro, per giocare sul contrasto cromatico con le nuance calde del legno, e il grigio profondo  della grande isola cucina.

Nei bagni, superfici di resina si alternano alle graniglie a pavimento, o a rivestimento. Nelle camere da letto campi di colore, con tagli netti a parete e a soffitto, definiscono ambiti all’interno delle camere bambini.
