PRF’s Headquarters

The renovation project of the headquarters building, built in 2001, was recently completed as part of a series of interventions carried out at PRF - Gas Solutions' facilities.

The work focused mainly on the ground floor, where the reception area was enlarged and visually extended into a new auditorium space. Work and meeting rooms were created, which receive natural light through one of the façades and through the auditorium, which acts as a visual extension of all the rooms on this floor. 

The façades underwent the necessary changes to create the auditorium's relationship with the outside, also optimizing the openings on the upper floor to achieve a more generous entry of natural light and relating the expression of the building extended in 2018, unifying the whole. A more fluid spatial solution was thus achieved, qualifying the reception area, and creating an auditorium that effectively participates in the adjoining spaces.

The interiors were standardized in their coverings, lighting, design and materials of the openings, giving continuity to the spaces, which were conceived in different circumstances. 

The auditorium, due to acoustic requirements, was given special treatment for its cladding and ceiling design.

The 2018 extension arose from the need to expand its administrative, warehouse and workshop areas, and the exterior cladding solutions proposed at that stage have now been taken up again - sheet metal and openings with a light, semi-hidden aluminum façade system - giving a clearer expression to the building's two volumes and the relationship between “full and empty”.

It should be noted that the initial realization of this project, carried out 20 years after the project that Impare Arquitectura developed for the interiors of the office spaces in the existing building, proved to be very rewarding, thanks to the client's great involvement and complicity throughout the process, a sign of the trust placed in our services.

Do conjunto de intervenções já realizadas nas instalações da PRF-Gas Solutions, foi recentemente concluído o projeto de renovação do edifício-sede, construído em 2001.

Os trabalhos incidiram essencialmente no piso térreo, onde se ampliou a área de receção, prolongando-a visualmente para um novo espaço de auditório. Foram também criadas salas de trabalho que recebem luz natural através de uma das fachadas e também através do auditório, que funciona como prolongamento visual de todos os compartimentos deste piso.

As fachadas sofreram as alterações necessárias à criação da relação do auditório com o exterior, otimizando também as aberturas do piso superior, para se conseguir uma entrada mais generosa de luz natural e relacionando com a expressão do edifício ampliado em 2018, unificando o conjunto. Conseguiu-se, assim, uma solução espacial mais fluída com a qualificação da área de receção e a criação do auditório que participa de forma efetiva dos espaços que lhe são contíguos.

Os interiores foram uniformizados nos seus revestimentos, na iluminação, no desenho e materiais dos vãos, dando continuidade aos espaços, que foram concebidos em diferentes circunstâncias.

O auditório, devido a exigências de comportamento acústico, teve um tratamento particular dos revestimentos e do desenho do teto.

A ampliação de 2018, surgiu da necessidade de expansão das suas áreas administrativa, de armazém e oficinas, tendo as soluções de revestimento exterior propostas nessa fase sido agora retomadas – chapa metálica e vãos com sistema de fachada ligeira, semioculta em alumínio – dando uma expressão mais clara aos dois volumes do edifício e às relações entre “cheio e vazio”.

Salienta-se que a realização inicial deste projeto, feito 20 anos depois do projeto que a Impare Arquitectura desenvolveu para os interiores dos espaços de escritórios do edifício existente, veio a revelar-se muito gratificante, graças ao grande envolvimento e cumplicidade do cliente em todo o processo, sinal da confiança depositada na prestação dos nossos serviços.
