CHALLENGE
The main challenge of this residential project was to create a house that maximized the isolated location, the relationship with nature, and natural light, while clearly distinguishing between day and night areas, maintaining privacy, and connecting with the surroundings.

STRATEGY
The house, located in a natural wooded environment on the outskirts of Valencia, has been designed with the goal of maximizing its isolated condition, the relationship with outdoor spaces, and the views of its surroundings.

The project consists of two clearly differentiated volumes, both in terms of design, orientation, and materiality, as well as the programs they accommodate.

The volume housing the daytime program is positioned longitudinally facing the southern part of the plot. This orientation allows for optimal utilization of natural light. Furthermore, the various spaces feature continuous openings that enhance the connection with outdoor areas, thereby blurring the boundaries between the interior and exterior.

This single-story volume is characterized by a horizontal plane that acts as a roof, and its geometric and material solidity contrasts with the more open distribution of the living room, dining room, kitchen, and covered porches located at both ends.

SOLUTION
Located in the northern part of the plot, the volume that houses the more private program of the residence is developed on two floors. The ground floor features four bedrooms, four bathrooms, a living room, a laundry room, and a utility room. On the first floor, there is a bedroom, a bathroom, a living room, and a terrace.

This volume, with a more closed and private character, also includes some openings in both the main and secondary rooms, allowing for direct enjoyment and connection with the exterior.

Between both volumes, an intermediate element of lesser scale appears, facilitating the relationship between the more public and private areas of the house. Simultaneously, it acts as the entrance foyer to the home.

Landscaping has been a key element in the design of the residence. In addition to preserving the existing trees on the plot, the design incorporates a variety of native species that can be enjoyed through paths and trails surrounding the entire dwelling.
