Varigotti represents a return to simplicity: the scent of the Mediterranean scrub and sun on the skin, bare feet on the narrow cobblestone streets of the old village, the fruit, the yellow of lemons, and the sound of waves crashing on the beach. These are the premises that have nourished and given shape and strength to the renovation project of a small apartment, transformed for a young professional couple into a retreat for both summer and winter.

This renovation of an old family apartment for a young professional couple begins with the transformation of the original layout, which allowed for the creation of two cozy bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a spacious living area. Previously, there was a large, underutilized entrance that distribute a bedroom, a small kitchen, and a bathroom.

The reinterpretation of the furniture, doors, and the selection of materials is characterized by expressive simplicity, linear geometric shapes, pastel tones, and efficient solutions that nod to the world of yachting with space-saving solutions.

The bookshelves in the bedrooms, made of lacquered yellow wood and characterized by reduced depth, offer ample space for books, as requested by the clients. Thanks to the fold-down desk option, they can transform into comfortable workspaces upon request.

The wooden doors, crafted from ash with open veins, stand as full-height gateways and create a play of slits that invite air and light to dance freely, much like the rugged cliffs overlooking the sea.

In the living room, the furnishings become authentic expressions of functional creativity: a storage bench and a mobile parallelepiped, free to move without a fixed anchor, take on various functions, almost as if adrift. Both elements are made of wood and coated with yellow and sky blue cement tiles.

The bunk bed, made of oak with ash slats, rests on metal plates fixed to the walls and with its simple lines provides everything needed to maximize the use of the small room.

Varigotti è ritorno alla semplicità: il profumo della macchia mediterranea e del sole sulla pelle, i piedi scalzi sulle strette mattonate del borgo vecchio, la frutta, il giallo dei limoni e il rumore delle onde che si infrangono sulla spiaggia. Queste le premesse che hanno nutrito e dato forma e forza al progetto di ristrutturazione di un piccolo appartamento, trasformato per una giovane coppia di professionisti in un rifugio del buen retiro sia estivo che invernale. Questo recupero ha permesso di ricavare due accoglienti camere da letto, due bagni e una spaziosa zona living, dove prima c’era un ampio ingresso poco sfruttato che articolava, una camera da letto, una piccola cucina e un bagno.

La rivisitazione degli arredi, delle porte e i materiali scelti sono caratterizzati da semplicità espressiva, forme geometriche lineari, tinte pastello e soluzioni efficienti che strizzano l’occhio al mondo della nautica con soluzioni salvaspazio.

Le librerie delle stanze da letto, in legno laccato giallo, caratterizzate da una profondità ridotta offrono molto spazio per libri, come richiesto dai clienti, e grazie al piano a ribalta si trasformano, a richiesta, in comode scrivanie.

Le porte in legno, realizzate in frassino con venature aperte, si ergono come varchi a tutta altezza e creano un gioco di fessure che invitano l’aria e la luce a danzare liberamente, come nelle scoscese falesie a picco sul mare.

Nel salotto, gli arredi si trasformano in autentiche espressioni di creatività funzionale: una panca contenitore e un parallelepipedo mobile, libero di muoversi senza un ancoraggio fisso per assumere diverse funzioni, quasi come se fosse alla deriva. Entrambi gli elementi sono realizzati in legno e rivestiti con cementine gialle e celesti.

Il letto a castello, realizzato in rovere con doghe in frassino, appoggia su piastre metalliche fissate alle pareti e con le sue linee semplici offre tutto quel che serve per massimizzare l’utilizzo della piccola stanza.
