The diversity of holiday homes or small residential buildings is due to the popularity of the genre and the freedom of design and construction stemming from their modest size. This experiment offers a compact 38-square-meter layout, addressing the question of how much might be "enough" for a detached or nature-oriented location.

Some of its toolkit may be familiar from the mid-twentieth century, as are the Northern influences which often followed in the domestic modernist traditions. Rather than striving for complete novelty, the driving force behind this design was to challenge the prevailing attitude suggests that "we modern architects must be necessarily "original", when it is not at all so obvious. The rational search for reasons and whys is a fundamental phase of architectural work." (Pazár, 2014, p. 34)

By elevating the structure above ground level by two steps, keeping the facade open, and carefully selecting materials, our aim was to seamlessly integrate the building into its environment, avoiding imposition and opting instead for harmonious blending. Inside, the homeliness of the spaces is ensured by the warmth of textiles and wood surfaces, allowing the interior to harmonize with the natural environment through the glass boundaries with its reflection bouncing off the natural steel elements. The freeing of the exterior walls suggests an airiness while providing functional versatility and, when needed, flexibility in facade design. This effect is further accentuated by the familiar form of the cantilevered pitched roof, offering shade and a smooth transition. The house can comfortably accommodate 2 or 4 individuals.

Our intention is that the strict layout and avoidance of all kinds of mannerisms will allow the design to be easily adaptable, while preserving the essence and character of the house.
