The Epic Apartment, located in São Paulo - Brazil, is the home of a couple: a psychologist whose hobby is playing the piano, and a designer who works in the fashion industry. The resident, an avid reader and movie lover, initially requested a bookshelf in the living room for his books and movies. When the demand for a specific element arose, the other functions necessary for the apartment's social area were housed in it.

In addition to the books and films, the metalwork bookshelf houses the home theater TV, creating a permeable partition between the rooms so as not to break up the integration, but giving the necessary warmth to the environment - a wooden bench that makes up the layout of the living room and a pedestal with a support shelf at the entrance to the property.

The clients have a sublime eye for choosing finishes, so through research, bamboo boards were chosen as the base of the apartment, which permeate the floor, ceiling and panels with mimic doors in the social area.

Having created this bamboo box, the neutral white materials with interesting textures, such as the perforated metal sheet, provide shelter and integration at the same time. The sheet metal was used as a second element, appearing on the main shelving unit, and in the closures in open and closed scenes between kitchen/living and living/dining.

To mimic the white background, the stones chosen for the worktops are the same color. Gray choices appear both in the sheet metal of the bookcases worked into uprights and shelves, and in the stone-textured kitchen cladding.

The darker kitchen is mimicked behind the nuances of the perforated metal sheet that divides the living room, blurring out what doesn't need to be seen while the doors are closed.

Working with possibilities/scenes is constant in the office, we believe that molding itself to the dynamics of the resident is the greatest merit a house can have.

The bedroom has the same concept of a multifunctional element as the living room, this time housing the clothes hangers, desk and TV stand, as an island and sectioning off the closet area and access to the bathroom.

In the bathrooms, porcelain tiles with a granilite texture and a dark background bring in dots of color. The design of the shards gives rise to sculpted tubs and mirrors made to measure for the project.
