Sheppard Medical Building - Toronto | C& Partners Architects

C& Partners Architects worked in collaboration with Mehdi Marzyari Architects to design this two-storey medical facility on Sheppard Avenue East in North York, Toronto. Utilizing a design language rooted in the concepts of flow and movement, materiality and lighting was carefully integrated to intuitively guide the movements of patients and staff, fostering a sense of calm and connection with the built environment.

Contrasting colours are used to delineate moments of pause, while wood accents and linear lighting create a soothing ambiance throughout to direct movement through a biophilic design approach. A custom ceiling was also designed to further enhance the spatial experience, contributing to a salutogenic atmosphere that promotes well-being. Beyond the building itself, Sheppard Medical Centre fosters connectivity with its urban surroundings, enhancing the streetscape and public realm to further integrate the building into the urban fabric and establish it as an essential healthcare facility for the surrounding community.
