In this subtle play of volumes and spaces, glass also becomes a protagonist.
Glass, which is already such a predominant material in the existing architecture of the villa, connects and separates through its ability to let light through.
It was used as a visual partition, but thanks to its transparency it respects the nature of the open space.
The choice of colours for the glass proved necessary to capture the dimension of the space and the perspective for the eye.
The yellow and blue glass surfaces shape, separate and connect, create plays of colour when they are overlaid and have the power to transform the reflection of light from outside, creating almost dreamlike atmospheres.
Again, elements that want to separate, but cannot separate.
It was always the explicit intention to create a language that draws inspiration from
the existing to become present, like a refined re-texturization of existing elements and materials.
That’s why we worked with wood, Canaletto walnut, in constant dialogue with the existing floor, glass, which was used in various forms, and concrete.
The lighting project was developed in two ways: A decorative light creates emotion, while a technical and functional light is integrated into the detailed design of the customized furnishings, giving the sloping roofs an almost floating appearance by blurring their boundaries.
Respect for the existing building, contemporary home comforts and domestic warmth were the basic elements that guided the entire design.
This is also reflected in the furniture design, where functionality and form coexist.
The careful selection of Italian and international design tells us about the customer’s roots and story. The furniture follows the same spirit as the architectural design,
which combines interior and exterior. The island sofa is the element that creates a real change of perspective in the living area. With its rigorous yet comfortable geometry,
it gives customers the opportunity to enjoy the natural surroundings of the villa, in the spirit of a visual continuum between inside and outside.
