Chesa Akelei Project

Four luxurious flats were designed for the Chesa Akelei building project, in a particularly privileged location. Architect Andreas Venzin explained that the new owners gave him complete freedom in redesigning the existing building. The residential building is located in front of a beautiful lake, named after the location: St.Moritz, a renowned and exclusive Swiss holiday destination, surrounded by ski lifts, ski slopes and mountain trails.

The architect’s first concern was to reconcile the beautiful view while respecting the privacy of those living there. The problem was solved by creating a structure of larch wood planks from Siberia, elliptical in shape and with a particular angle, which would prevent the interior view from outside, but allow an uninterrupted landscape view from inside. The result of this study of shape and angle is satisfying and will certainly be long-lasting, thanks to the great stability of the wood type chosen.

The natural manufactured stone Geopietra® was included in the project’s realization: firstly because of the different customizing possibilities offered and secondly because of its technical features; guarantee of safety and durability. In this case Abitasistema® was installed: the tested and guaranteed procedure for the installation of Murogeopietra® on external EPS thermal insulation, specifically conceived to allow efficient design free from structural and technical constraints and also able to guarantee energy savings and the best conditions for living comfort. Murogeopietra® is the first European system to have passed the anti-seismic test according to Eurocode 8 directives, at the French public body CSTB. Moreover, the new CSTB / LEPIR II test, carried out in 2018, confirmed that the procedure perfectly meets fire safety standards. The construction was entirely built with blocks to maintain the delicate geological balance of the site. The Geopietra® model chosen for the exterior is called Garda, combined with the light tone of the GeoBi Sabbia mortar. The finish with full joints of the mortar makes the masonry linear, creating a harmonious picture of soft tones, contrasting with the important circular play of the façade. Inside, the chosen stone cladding model is the same used outside, but with a customised blend, where the shade is slightly lighter and brighter than that of the outer cladding. In addition, stone was used as a connecting element between interior and exterior: on the walls of the garage and the staircase of the residence, in perfect harmony with the tones of porphyry floors in transition areas. The wide curvature that dominates the line of the structure on the left side was designed not to bother the old house built next door, thus creating a round terrace for each flat. Therefore, the wooden screening allowed for privacy without compromising the view. Moreover, the screening walls concealed the movable glazing, allowing the outdoor area to be closed off and a new room to be created.

Per il progetto edilizio Chesa Akelei sono stati ideati quattro lussuosi appartamenti, in una posizione particolarmente privilegiata. Come spiegato dall’architetto Andreas Venzin, i nuovi proprietari gli hanno concesso la massima libertà nella riprogettazione della costruzione preesistente. La struttura residenziale si trova davanti a un bellissimo lago, omonimo della località: St.Moritz, una rinomata ed esclusiva meta svizzera per il turismo, circondata da impianti di risalita, piste da sci e sentieri di montagna.

Il primo proposito dell’architetto è stato quello di conciliare la splendida vista con il rispetto della privacy di chi vi abitasse. Il problema è stato risolto creando una struttura di assi in legno di larice dalla Siberia, dalla forma ellittica e con un’angolazione particolare, che impedisse da fuori la visione interna, ma permettesse dall’interno di avere sempre una visione ininterrotta del panorama. Questo studio di forma e angolatura è risultato soddisfacente e sarà certamente duraturo, grazie alla grande stabilità della tipologia di legno scelto.

La pietra naturale ricostruita Geopietra® è stata inclusa nella realizzazione del progetto: primariamente per le possibilità di personalizzazione e in secondo luogo per via delle sue caratteristiche tecniche; garanzia di sicurezza e durabilità. In questo caso Geopietra® ha potuto installare Abitasistema®: parliamo della procedura testata e garantita per la posa di Murogeopietra® su isolamento termico esterno EPS. Essa è stata appositamente concepita per consentire una progettazione efficiente e libera da vincoli strutturali e tecnici, in grado inoltre di garantire risparmio energetico e le migliori condizioni di benessere abitativo. Murogeopietra® è il primo sistema europeo ad aver superato il collaudo antisismico secondo le direttive Eurocode 8, presso l’ente pubblico francese CSTB. Inoltre il nuovo test CSTB / LEPIR II, svolto nel 2018, ha confermato come la procedura soddisfi perfettamente le norme di sicurezza antincendio. La costruzione è stata interamente realizzata a blocchi per mantenere i delicati equilibri geologici del luogo. Il modello Geopietra® scelto per l’esterno è stato il Garda, abbinato alla tonalità chiara dello stucco GeoBi Sabbia. La finitura piena dello stucco rende la muratura lineare, creando un quadro armonioso di tonalità delicate, in contrasto con l’importante gioco circolare della facciata. All’interno, il rivestimento in pietra risulta dello stesso modello scelto per l’esterno, ma con una miscela personalizzata, dove la tonalità è leggermente più chiara e luminosa rispetto a quella impiegata per il rivestimento esterno. La pietra è stata utilizzata anche come elemento di collegamento tra interno ed esterno: utilizzata sulle pareti del garage e delle scale del residence e in perfetta armonia con le tonalità del porfido dei pavimenti nelle zone di passaggio. L’ampia curvatura che domina la linea della struttura sul lato sinistro è stata progettata per non disturbare la casa antica costruita accanto, creando così una terrazza rotonda per ogni appartamento. La schermatura in legno ha così consentito la giusta privacy senza compromettere la visuale. Inoltre, le pareti schermanti hanno nascosto anche le vetrate mobili, permettendo di chiudere la zona esterna e creando una nuova stanza.
