Jaspal inaugurates a new flagship store in Bangkok designed by Studiopepe. The 460 square-meter store is located within Central World, one of the largest and most exclusive retail complexes in Thailand, which includes an hotel and an office tower. The Milan based interior design studio conceived a welcoming space with a sophisticated and contemporary atmosphere, characterized by a neutral materic environment. Metal touches, complemented with cement and glazed ceramics give to the space a vibrant accent. Textured surfaces cover soft and rounded shapes, while high glossy details enrich the space through hints of bright colors. Organic architecture and space age culture have been a major inspiration in the development of the project and the creative process. 1970s/1980s italian design has also influenced the geometries animating the floorplan, like the chunky and chamfered metal furniture, contributing to create a fresh new contemporary space. The Nanda Vigo conflict/harmony between light and space has been crucial for Studiopepe approach. The 1970s Milan designer becomes a multifaceted artist, able to combine art, architecture and design with her personal exploration of the space/time relationship, which, through the use of light, she wants to make appear as something that goes on forever. This inspired the sensorial experience created by artificial lights and materials reflection. Subtle references to the artist Paolo Scheggi’s work can be read in the organic ceiling shapes. Scheggi was one of the protagonists of the Italian neo-avant-garde art movement of the 1960s, in a spatialist and monochromatic direction. His investigation expands into a germinating formal elaboration, configuring infinite visual possibilities, metaphors for a profound existential reflection that embraces the space and time in which we live. His formal study   played a key role in the Jaspal concept process. This flagship store will host for the first time the new Jaspal Home collection with a dedicated 60 square meters corner within the store. The emphasized use of terracotta artisanal tiles combined with beige lacquered flexible shelves characterize a warm and welcoming ambient with a domestic feeling. Studiopepe designed the exclusive Home collection for Jaspal Home products, creating three main characters called: Fun Pop, Urban and Natural Chic. The combination of simplicity, traditional home decoration shapes, strong colors, young and unisex soul and the mid-century elegance, define the families of textiles and decoration products. The open layout of the store is defined by full-height brushed steel tubes and lit shelves. The four structural columns become four circular highlights with handmade ceramic tiles and suspended metal display, combined with circular steel benches that in the cash desk area can become seats for costumers. The different types of apparel are hosted in central displays characterized by a unique bold design. The repetition of vertical lines contrasts the soft forms of the furnishings, while rough materials are juxtaposed with glossy and lacquered surfaces. Three niches characterize the central part of the store: a cash desk area in the middle and two accessories niches for both woman and man. These combine metal sides with “mint and milk” green glossy shelves against a glass wall, creating a visual continuity with the outside walkway. The overall colour palette presents neutral tones of beige, nude, green and shiny metal, alongside the terracotta and glazed warm white ceramics of the Home division. Concrete flooring with sparse grey and white aggregates create a homogeneous floor for all the areas. Back-lit stretched fabric lights with an organic shape decorate the store ceiling creating an artistic scenography, along with sparse functional downlights highlighting the furniture.
