Casa Rosario is located in the Historic Center of Mérida. The project is developed on a narrow plot of land where the preexistence of the tree is manifested and conditions the architectural design. In this residence lives a family of three members dedicated to the plastic arts, whose lives are intertwined with creative expression and enjoyment of outdoor activities.

The layout features a linear organization marked by a slab that accompanies and outlines the social and intimate areas, creating a spatial distribution that flows logically and harmoniously. This cover not only fulfills its protective function but also stands out as the most characteristic and recognizable element of the project's formal language.

The design incorporates openings to courtyards located between the volumes that make up each program space, taking advantage of the North-South orientation to ensure natural lighting, ventilation, and views of the surrounding vegetation.

Due to the local climate, it is possible to use outdoor areas throughout the year, allowing for open-air circulations. The pool integrates this idea, becoming the central element that visually connects the spaces; its reflections add a dynamic and changing visual element to the environment. During the day, the sunlight reflecting on the water's surface projects moving reflections on the slab, and at night, the pool becomes a source of light that contributes to a new atmosphere.

On the facade, the house takes the setback of the adjacent older building and aligns in height with the lower one, respecting the formal characteristics of the block to which it belongs, providing continuity to the immediate surface. However, the facade design differs in materiality and color.

The finishes provide a serene backdrop, directing attention to the art works that populate the spaces. Textures derived from cement, simultaneously robust, add a tactile dimension that, over time, develops an expected patina.

The arrangement of furniture and the distribution of spaces have been conceived with a clear purpose: to create a visual dialogue between architecture and art. The pieces are integrated into prominent places, transforming each corner into a gallery. This home, beyond serving the function of a refuge, becomes a space for contemplation where creativity flows freely. The harmony between neutral tones and vibrant artistic expression creates a warm and stimulating environment, a tangible testimony to this family's passion for the plastic arts, defining a new chapter in the lives of those who call it home.
