The “wave Apartment” project’s main challenge was the reorganization and hierarchization of spaces.

Located on the seafront, on the eighth floor of a typical 70s building, and with fantastic views. However, it did not take advantage of this due to the excessive compartmentalization that conveyed a complex environment that was difficult to interpret.
In this way, in the first moment to respond to the program, we defined and hierarchized the spaces: arrival area, social area and intimate area. This attitude created some difficulties for us due to the essential technical and structural elements such as pillars and beams, which affected the process.
It was then that we created a structuring and fundamental element for this reorganization, an organic “wave” wall that takes us from the social area to the intimate area in a fluid and intuitive way, another fundamental element is the furniture that separates the service area from the social area. and houses a large circular mirror that works like a typical boat window. This “window” reflects the ocean and its horizon, transporting the exterior views to the interior of the apartment, namely to the dining area.
All the furniture was designed using the same concepts, transmitting both formal and chromatic coherence, the “ocean” blue color conveys tranquility.
As for the materials and following the coherence of the place, we opted for microcement throughout the floor in a continuous manner, similar to the sand and beaches there.
In the atrium of the rooms where there is no natural lighting, we chose to remove the ovoid ceiling and place indirect lighting there, resulting in a pleasant and natural environment that eliminates the lack of natural light.

O projeto “wave Apartment” teve como principal desafio a reorganização e hierarquização dos espaços.

Localizado na primeira linha de mar, no oitavo andar de um edifício típico dos anos 70,  e com vistas fantásticas. No entanto, não tirava partido disso devido ao excesso de compartimentação que transmitia um ambiente complexo e de difícil interpretação.

Desta forma e no primeiro momento para responder ao programa definimos e hierarquizamos os espaços: zona de chegada, zona social e zona íntima. Esta atitude criou-nos algumas dificuldades devido aos elementos técnicos e estruturais imprescindíveis tais como coretes pilares e vigas, o que condicionou.

Foi então que criamos um elemento estruturante e fundamental para esta reorganização, uma parede “onda” orgânica que nos leva da zona social para a zona íntima de uma forma fluida e intuitiva, outro elemento fundamental é o móvel que separa a zona de serviço da social e alberga um grande espelho circular que funciona como uma janela típica das embarcações. Esta “janela” reflete o oceano e o seu horizonte transportando as vistas exteriores para o interior do apartamento nomeadamente para a zona de jantar.

Todo o mobiliário foi desenhado sobre os mesmos conceitos transmitindo coerência quer formal quer cromático, a cor azul “oceano” transmite-nos a tranquilidade.

Quanto aos materiais e seguindo a coerência do lugar optamos por microcimento em todo o pavimento de forma continua à semelhança do areal e praias ali existentes.

No átrio dos quartos onde não existe iluminação natural, optamos por fazer uma supressão do teto de forma ovoide a ali colocar iluminação indireta, resultou num ambiente agradável e natural e que suprime a carência  de luz natural.
