The competition held in Buenos Aires was aptly titled "VERTICAL ZOO." At its core, the fundamental concept challenges the common perception associated with cages in traditional zoological gardens. In this innovative approach, humans and animals embark on a shared journey, navigating harmoniously along intertwining paths.

The central idea proposes the implementation of an elliptical-shaped rail system, where guided tours are conducted via a small train. These guided tours not only serve as recreational visits but also transform into informative sessions suitable for school children's educational experiences.

The elliptical train route strategically traverses through all areas accommodating the diverse 20 species of animals. Commencing from ground level, the journey ascends through aviaries, concluding at a designated observation deck on the seventh floor.

The essence of the concept lies in the liberation from conventional cages; it is an invitation for humans to enter the realm of animals and traverse alongside them. The open enclosure blurs the boundaries between species, fostering a unique coexistence as humans walk in tandem with their fellow inhabitants of the zoo.

The competition was created in collaboration with the architect Francesca Sibilia.
