Schloss Plars wine&suites | monovolume architecture + design

Nestling amidst vineyards and sorrounded by mountains lies Schloss Plars, where the charming historic building houses a small hotel, in which an interior renovation took place in an initial project phase. The new extension stems from the need to extend the structure and it was born out of an interplay of nature, culture and tradition.

Inspired by the Algund Waalweg, with its vineyards and flowing water, the landscape becomes the project's main protagonist. The architecture reflects the main features of the landscape by taking them up and presenting them in a new, modern version.
The concept stems from the idea of taking the details that characterise the main building and integrating them into the new structure. Textures and patterns are echoed to create a link between the two buildings.
The contrast between the traditional structure of the castle and the modern and clean structure of the extension leads to a play of visual references in which one is immersed in a romantic and timeless atmosphere.

The ground floor of the building houses the wine cellar, while the first and second floor are dedicated to the suites and a sauna area that can be used by all hotel guests.
The exterior façade features a woven motif that echoes the rhythm of the surrounding vineyards while ensuring privacy for the relaxation area in the north- east of the building.
The choice of colours for the exterior façade, characterised by a light earthy- beige tone, emphasises the building's adaptation to its surroundings.

The asymmetrical roof gives the building a distinctive and fascinating identity. Simultaneously, it creates a continuity between the existing building and the new construction. In fact, it begins with a triangular shape and ends with a simple line that leaves space for the surrounding landscape and, thanks to the green roof, merges with it.

Zeitlose Atmosphäre
Eingebettet in die Weite der Weinreben und umarmt von Bergen liegt das Schloss
Plars, wo das charmante historische Gebäude ein kleines Hotel beherbergt. In der
Ersten Phase hat eine Renovierung der Innenräume stattgefunden. Der neue
Zubau entstand aus der Notwendigkeit die Struktur zu erweitern und ist aus der
Verbindung von Natur, Kultur und Tradition entstanden.
Inspiriert durch den Algunder Waalweg, mit seinen Weinbergen und dem
fließenden Wasser, wird die Landschaft zum Protagonisten des Projekts. Die
Architektur spiegelt dabei die Hauptmerkmale der Landschaft wider, indem sie
diese aufnimmt und in einer modernen Version neu präsentiert.
Das Konzept entspringt der Idee, die Details, welche das Hauptgebäude
auszeichnen, aufzunehmen und in den Neubau zu integrieren. Dabei werden
Texturen und Muster aufgegriffen, um eine Verbindung zwischen den beiden
Gebäuden zu schaffen.
Der Kontrast zwischen der traditionellen Struktur des Schlosses und der
modernen und klaren Struktur des Erweiterungsbaus führt zu einem Spiel der
Blickbezüge, bei dem man in eine romantische und zeitlose Atmosphäre
eintaucht.
Das Erdgeschoss des Gebäudes beherbergt den Weinkeller, während das erste und
zweite Obergeschoss den Suiten und einem Saunabereich, der vom gesamten
Hotel genutzt werden kann, gewidmet sind.
Die äußere Fassade zeigt ein geflochtenes Motiv, das den Rhythmus der
umliegenden Weinberge aufgreift und zugleich die Privatsphäre für den
Entspannungsbereich im Nordosten des Gebäudes gewährleistet.
Die Wahl der Farben für die Außenfassade, die sich durch einen hellen erdig-
beigen Farbton auszeichnet, unterstreicht die Anpassung des Gebäudes an seine
landschaftliche Umgebung.

Das asymmetrische Dach verleiht dem Gebäude eine unverwechselbare und
faszinierende Identität. Gleichzeitig schafft es eine Kontinuität zwischen dem
bestehenden Gebäude und dem Neubau. Es beginnt nämlich mit einer
Dreiecksform und endet mit einer einfachen Linie, die der umgebenden
Landschaft Raum lässt und dank des begrünten Daches mit ihr verschmilzt.

Atmosfera senza tempo
Immerso in un’estensione di vigneti e abbracciato da montagne, si trova Castello
Plars, dove l’affascinante edificio storico ospita un piccolo hotel, nel quale in
una prima fase progettuale ha avuto luogo una ristrutturazione degli interni. Il
nuovo ampliamento nasce dall’esigenza di estendere la struttura e si genera fra
l’incontro della natura, la cultura e le tradizioni.
Ispirato dalla Lagundo Waalweg, ricca di vigneti e acqua, il paesaggio diventa
protagonista del progetto e l’architettura ne rispecchia le sue principali
caratteristiche, assorbendole e riproponendole in una versione moderna.
Il concept nasce dalla necessita di incorporare i dettagli, che contraddistinguono
la struttura principale, nel nuovo ampliamento, dunque vengono individuati
texture e pattern tali da creare una connessione fra i due edifici.
Il contrasto fra la struttura tradizionale del castello e quella moderna e lineare
dell’ampliamento sfocia in un gioco di sguardi, ritrovandosi immersi in un clima
romantico e senza tempo.
Al pianoterra dell’edificio si trova la cantina di produzione del vino, mentre il
primo piano e il secondo sono dedicati alla progettazione di suite e una zona
saune fruibile dall’intera struttura alberghiera.
La schermatura esterna si presenta con un motivo intrecciato, che riprende il
ritmo paesaggistico delle colture dei vigneti circostanti, e ha la funzione
garantire la privacy per la area relax poste a nord-est.
La scelta dei colori utilizzati per le facciate esterne, caratterizzate da una tonalità di terra chiara - beige rende ancora più evidente la necessità di
conformare l’edificio con l’intorno paesaggistico.
Il tetto asimmetrico conferisce all'edificio una personalità particolare e
affascinante. Creando una continuità fra l’edificio esistente e la nuova
costruzione.
Esso parte, infatti, con una forma triangolare per concludersi con una semplice
linea, lasciando così spazio al paesaggio circostante e fondendosi in esso grazie
alla copertura verde.
