NoMad London
City of London / United Kingdom / 2020
The art programme for NoMad London celebrates the influence of postwar American art and European avant-garde, exploring the exchange of creative ideas between London and New York. Old world references are inspired both in the origins and rich history of Covent Garden as well in Victorian era artist references including Turner who was born in the neighbourhood. The hotel’s public spaces focus on an intimate point of view, as seen through the lens of a New York art collector, emphasizing stand-alone masterpieces, collections and series of works. The experience aims to evoke the feeling of walking through a collector’s home.
