The transformation of a compact office in the center of Yekaterinburg is a project of Ekaterina Elizarova

Ekaterina Elizarova has radically changed the image of office space in Yekaterinburg. With minimal redevelopment, she managed to turn an outdated design with dark walls and massive furniture into an air-filled place for business negotiations in the city center. Smooth shapes, softened corners, a light palette and art objects have become the main assistants of the designer.
A small office is located on the territory of one of the most famous Yekaterinburg hotels — Atrium Palace, built in the late 90s. Previously, the hotel's management company was based in a dark space with heavy wooden panels. In order to adapt the room to the customer's wishes, it was necessary to dismantle all the previous finishes, replace the electrics and reinstall the air conditioning system. Load-bearing structures and perimeter partitions turned out to be one of the main limitations of the project. It was possible to change only the location of the opening leading to the meeting room. The boundaries of the compact hall with a reception and a couple of workplaces, the head's office, a small kitchen and a library with an archive remained untouched.
Another problem faced by Ekaterina Elizarova turned out to be the global crisis, which broke out in the midst of the work. Due to logistical problems and the withdrawal of many furniture brands from the market, we had to look for workarounds and turn to Russian manufacturers. So, the center of the glass-separated conference area was a table created according to the author's sketches and surrounded by futuristic Roche Bobois chairs. Their unusual shape emphasized the progressive spirit of the form and completely changed the impression of the laconic interior. Modern materials can also be seen in the director's office: the walls here are decorated with textured sisal wallpaper, and the soft group consists of Giorgio Collection armchairs with comfortable armrests. Gray, olive and white colors helped to reflect the character of the client as a non-trivial and open person who looks boldly into the future. Unexpected graphic details – eclairs found on the Manner & Matter platform and a statuette by Jaime Iona – were the final touches of the space.
