The starting point is a corner space, with two floors, in a very good classic building in Madrid.

The proposal tries to join the roots of each of the cultures that will come together there.

The base is European culture, represented by Modern Architecture, the International style, a certain Le Corbusier air... the origin of what has been done for almost 100 years now. Also with materials typical of the Madrid house. Hydraulic tile floors combining three colours, matt tile cladding in the same tones, chestnut wood and a rough projected plaster wall finish, which plays with the memory of Tyrolean plaster, shape the container.

Furniture references in modern design are added, such as the chrome-plated steel and folded plywood chairs by Egon Eiermann, or lamps by Miguel Milá or Charlotte Perriand, together with current elements by Hay, Ton or lamps by Muller van Severen. The composition is completed with some of the studio's own designs.

Peruvian touches are added to this base, in the applied art (with the fabrics by Betil Dagdelen embedded in the walls, or the pieces selected by the owner, Juan Correa), the vegetation, the accessories and the use of colour.

Finally, the atmosphere wants to be New York, fresh and spontaneous, with an intentionally low and heterogeneous lighting, the vitality of the service, and the energy of the cocktails coming from a red-coloured bar. It is sophisticated but casual at the same time, aiming for a high aesthetic level and a touch of fun.

The interior design proposal is tailored to that of the restaurant, from the studio's own interests, trying to distance it from current trends and direct references. Less action, less 'stage', more prominence for the kitchen and the people.

In the neighbourhood it fits in between more and less formal proposals, with its own personality but as a 'good companion'.

El punto de partida es un espacio en esquina, con dos plantas, en un muy buen edificio clásico de Madrid.
La propuesta trata de unir las raíces de cada una de las culturas que se van a juntar allí. La base la pone la cultura europea, representada por la Arquitectura Moderna, el estilo Internacional, un cierto aire Le Corbusier…el origen de lo que se ha hecho desde hace ahora casi 100 años. También con materiales propios de la casa madrileña. Suelos de loseta hidráulica combinando tres colores, revestimientos de azulejo mate en los mismos tonos, madera de castaño y un acabado de pared de yeso proyectado rugoso, que juega con el recuerdo del revoco a la tirolesa, conforman el contenedor. Se añaden muebles referencia en el diseño moderno, como las sillas de acero cromado y contrachapado plegado de Egon Eiermann, o lámparas de Miguel Milá o Charlotte Perriand, junto a elementos actuales de Hay, Ton o lámparas de Muller van Severen. La composición se completa con algunos diseños propios del estudio.
A esta base se añaden toques peruanos, en el arte aplicado (con los tejidos de Betil Dagdelen encastrados en las paredes, o las piezas seleccionadas por Juan Correa), la vegetación, los complementos y el uso del color.
Finalmente, el ambiente quiere ser neoyorkino, fresco y espontáneo, con una iluminación intencionadamente baja y heterogénea, la vitalidad del servicio, y la energía de los cócteles saliendo de una barra coloreada de rojo. Es sofisticado pero casual al mismo tiempo, pretende un alto nivel estético y un punto divertido.
La propuesta de interiorismo está hecha a la medida de la del restaurante, desde los intereses propios del estudio, tratando de alejarla de tendencias actuales y referencias directas. Menos acción, menos ‘escenario’, más protagonismo de la cocina y la gente.
En el barrio encaja entre propuestas más y menos formales, con una personalidad propia pero como un ‘buen compañero’.
