The big challenge of this project was the energy renovation of an existing building with the desire to aim for the low-energy building label.

Divided into two accommodations, this millstone building has been completely renovated. In order to improve the energy performance of each of the homes, a thermal study was carried out in collaboration with a thermal design office. Particular attention was paid to the choice of insulation, with the use of wood fiber, a biosourced material that provides better thermal comfort both in summer and in winter. Concerning the layout, several load-bearing walls were opened in order to redistribute the spaces and bring in more light. Plays of shapes and colors have been developed throughout the building, from the ground floor to the attic, and mix with more raw materials; creating a harmonious contrast between the ancient and the contemporary.

Divisée en deux logements, cette bâtisse en meulière a fait l’objet d’une rénovation totale. Afin d’améliorer les performances énergétiques de chacun des logements, une étude thermique a été réalisée en collaboration avec un bureau d’étude thermique. Une attention particulière a été portée sur le choix des isolants, avec la mise en place de la fibre de bois, matériau biosourcé et apportant un meilleur confort thermique aussi bien en été qu’en hiver. Concernant l’aménagement, plusieurs murs porteurs ont été ouverts afin de redistribuer les espaces et de faire entrer davantage de lumière. Des jeux de formes et de couleurs ont été développés dans l’ensemble de la bâtisse, du rez-de-chaussée aux combles, et se mêlent à des matières plus brutes ; créant alors un contraste harmonieux entre l’ancien et le contemporain.
