The ambition of the project was to make an old garage livable and pleasant, and to make it an atypical and bright accommodation within a tight budget.

The Chuquet project involved the conversion of a former parking space into an apartment, with the main challenge being to locate the dwelling on the first floor (in a 1960s building), with only one possible source of light, maximized by the use of glass bricks. In addition, the more intimate spaces - bedroom and bathroom - are located at the back of the dwelling, with the living spaces - kitchen and living room - on the street side. A cube located in the center acts as a buffer between the night and day areas, and also enables functional spaces to be shared in the center of the room. White 10x10cm glazed tiles reflect the light from the single opening. The green epoxy-painted floor contributes to the luminous effect, while giving the apartment a unique identity. Finally, with its high ceiling (320cm), the image of the cube has been reinforced by detaching it from the ceiling, allowing better natural ventilation in the dwelling.
