Casa Naturalista | Maria Aucejo

The rehabilitation of this apartment located in a 1930s building started from the need to turn it around.
The day and night spaces exchange their original positions to take advantage of natural light and gain space from the rest of the rooms, creating a balance of two large areas: the daytime one open to visitors and street activity and the nighttime one with everything necessary for the rest of its inhabitants.

Original mosaics and moldings are recovered and combined with new materials that want to update them without overshadowing them. Storage space is gained with wooden custom furniture, the original bathroom is divided in two and the kitchen is integrated in the living room, ceasing to be a residual space to be the protagonist.
