THE SWING | CIRCOLO - A

San Teodoro is a neighborhood in the hills of Genoa, where fishermen’s houses has built in stone and reusing wooden parts of ships.
One of these houses has been the residence of a family generation after generation; the young couple that is living in the house now wanted to have a total renovation of that, with a minimal philosophy supported by the truth and the strength of the original materials and atmosphere of the building.
After a light-blue entrance, with bluestone stairs, a double-height living room flooded with light is the heart of the house. The original wooden beams, those of structural steel reinforcement, the upper floor loft define the volume of this space. A swing is the active and playful part of a relaxing living room. A brick wall separates this room from the kitchen, but they are connected by a big glass and steel door, that can be closed or left opened, creating a single environment.
On this level there is the main bedroom, characterized by two twins custom wardrobes, an antique pink hemp curtain and a photographic wallpaper. The main bathroom is a pure ambient, with double sink and double shower, with a resin floor like the kitchen floor; this characteristic diversify these more technical spaces from the rest of the house, which as got a very natural wooden flooring.
All the rooms are joined together by the concept of the spaces, by natural materials and by natural colors, that respect and highlight the innate relationship between the house and the nature which is surrounded by.
From the windows you can see the garden outside and the sea on the horizon, from the roof windows upstairs, in the bedroom, in the small bathroom or in the free space obtained in an intimate corner, you can watch the sky and the clouds passing by.

San Teodoro è un quartiere sulle colline di Genova, dove le case dei pescatori sono state costruite in pietra riutilizzando parti in legno delle navi.

Una di queste case è stata la residenza di una famiglia, generazione dopo generazione; la giovane coppia che ora abita la casa ha voluto ristrutturarla completamente, con una filosofia minimalista sostenuta dalla verità e dalla forza dei materiali, e dell'atmosfera originaria dell'edificio.

Dopo un ingresso azzurro, con scale in ardesia, il soggiorno a doppia altezza inondato di luce è il cuore della casa.
Le travi in legno originali, quelle di rinforzo strutturale in acciaio, il soppalco del piano superiore definiscono il volume di questo spazio.

Un'altalena è la parte attiva e giocosa di un soggiorno rilassante.
Una parete in mattoni separa questa stanza dalla cucina, ma sono collegate da una grande porta in vetro e acciaio, che può essere chiusa o lasciata aperta, creando un unico ambiente.

Su questo livello si trova la camera da letto principale, caratterizzata da due armadi gemelli su misura, una tenda di canapa rosa antico e una carta da parati fotografica.

Il bagno principale è un ambiente puro, con doppio lavabo e doppia doccia, con un pavimento in resina come quello della cucina; questa caratteristica diversifica questi spazi più tecnici dal resto della casa, che ha un pavimento in legno molto naturale.
Tutti gli ambienti sono accomunati dalla concezione degli spazi, dai materiali e dai colori naturali, che rispettano ed evidenziano l'innato rapporto tra la casa e la natura che la circonda.
Al piano superiore si trova una camera da letto che si affaccia sulla zona living, un’area “ pensatoio” e un bagno dotato di una vasca in appoggio.

Dalle finestre si vede il giardino e il mare all'orizzonte, dai velux del piano superiore, si può osservare il cielo e il passaggio delle nuvole.
