The renovation of Mind The Value’s offices in Milan, a prominent company specializing in process optimization and information technology consulting, has brought about a remarkable transformation.
The company acquired these offices during the pandemic, posing a significant challenge.
The spaces had remained unchanged since the 1970s, featuring a dated and rigid layout.

However, Mind The Value had a clear vision for its offices: it sought a cutting-edge space, equipped with the latest technologies, and comfortable for its employees.
This transformation was a means for the company to translate its values into action and create a modern and inspiring work environment.

The client has requested a space that aligns with their dynamic, flexible, modern, and well-being-oriented mindset. The concept behind this request was to create a well-defined yet integrated space where various aspects of personal and professional life could seamlessly intersect.
Furthermore, the client has expressed a desire for the latest technologies to be incorporated into office management and work processes, all while emphasizing environmental sustainability and a green approach.

Therefore, the project’s objective was to redesign the layout of spaces, creating a more fluid and interconnected environment.
This approach aims to maximize the space’s potential and offer various possibilities and modes for both work and personal well-being throughout the working day.

A key element of the new design was the maximization of natural light, taking advantage of the closely spaced rows of windows on both sides of the building.
On one side, facing the street, a roomy workspace has been established, featuring a custom-designed workstation. On the opposite side, an adaptable lounge area has been constructed, designed for reconfiguration and partitioning using a system of curtains.

Velvet curtains were chosen to evoke a sense of ‘home away from home’ and to enhance the overall comfort of the structured and process-oriented working environment.
When the lounge area’s furniture is moved, the environment can transform into an auditorium, with the addition of chairs and monitors descending from the ceiling, allowing it to accommodate larger meetings and events.

At the far end of the lounge area, a staircase has been installed to connect the two levels of the space, creating a theater-like environment for special company events.
This space is designed to be a convivial and collaborative area where people can take a break, share ideas, and engage in social interactions.

The central area of the offices was designated for more private spaces, including meeting rooms, an experiential room, and service and utility areas.
The functional core that divides the space is distinguished by two wide transversal passages connecting the open areas, forming a system of circular paths that enhance the overall fluidity and accessibility of the space.

While the lateral areas were adorned with neutral materials to encourage concentration and relaxation, the central core embraced a vibrant chromatic and textural identity, inspired by Mind The Value’s corporate colors, as commissioned for the redesign project.
The floors, ceilings, and walls were coated with a distinctive blue resin, while the exterior surface of the utility volume featured a rich dark wood cladding.

This choice of materials and colors not only contributed to creating a distinctive and captivating environment but also served as a response to the client’s requirements, aligning the office design with the Mind The Value’s work style.
This approach ensures that the materials and colors complement the overall atmosphere, which is bright and elegant, without overpowering it.
