LD apartment | Incognito Studio
Rome / Italy / 2022
Ld is an apartment that seeks to push the boundaries of flexibility and movement within a space, exploring the diverse possibilities it can offer.
Within the 70m2 expanse, the living room, kitchen, and bedroom seamlessly converge, fostering a sense of unity and spaciousness. The intentional design promotes an adaptable environment, transforming the apartment into a single, expansive domain that unfolds dynamically throughout the day.
At the core of this spatial narrative stands a horizontal and opaque architectural feature – the concrete beam.
In a deliberate act of contrast, a gleaming vertical steel pillar rises, devoid of practical function. This steel sentinel ıs a pure archıtectural element ıs the new gravitational center of the space.
The integration of wood, concrete, and steel creates a captivating contrast, blending the warmth of wood with the coolness concrete and the sleek allure of steel.
Amidst the architectural composition, the southern wall, dressed in pristine white, serves as a minimalist canvas, allowing the natural spectacle and sunlight to take precedence. This design choice accentuates the bohemian influence, fostering a connection with nature and simplicity.
Conversely, the northern wall is a symphony of materials, blending the earthy warmth of wood with the timeless charm of terracotta, creating a backdrop that celebrates the daily rituals of life.
