the rappersbühl ensemble works with the layers of height, with the nature, the positioning and the intermediate spaces. It’s integrated into the landscape and becomes part of it. the pitched roofs, one with shingles, the other covered by green, become part of the landscape, mark the architecture and, together with the historic trees, give identity to the place.
the sloping, green, folding roof, which opens up towards the courtyard, is integrated into the ensemble like a natural flower meadow. the landscape grows over it and forms a natural unit. an integration, a work with nature and materiality. the materiality of the new ensemble comes from the site itself: on the one hand the wood from the surrounding forests, the masonry stones from the site, the coloured concrete based on the clay found, with its formwork brushed from wooden planks, and also the plaster of the interior, the clay, are found in the earth of the excavation. the excavated material is brought back to the buildings integrated in the height layers and planted. a work with the site.
when arriving at rappersbühl, the first thing recognisable is the avenue of trees that frames the view. a first volume, a wooden construction building with wooden tiles leads the view over the meadows and the slope of the built landscape.

the barn, the fountain, the sauna and the bakery are positioned at a certain distance, forming a courtyard situation with the old trees and completing the site.
the project is intended to be a place of well-being and reflects a feeling that characterises the outside space: cultivated simplicity and closeness to nature, light, warmth, timelessness and a sense of specialness.
the most conspicuous and largest building, due to the large number of animals, is the stadel. here the wooden construction rests on a concrete base, lets the cows run and works with vertical details and elements that give rhythm to the façade and tie in with traditional details interpreting them in a contemporary way.
in the main building, a coloured concrete band with local accents forms the contour of the architecture, which rests on the façades, pine partitions, felled and processed from the company's rappersbühl forest. this works with overhangs and recesses of the vertical elements, with open and closed surfaces and coloured details such as oversized downpipes. the band bends at the end, becomes the client's shelter and is made entirely by wood. inside, it works with natural light, special atmospheres and spatial situations, clearing
the materials wood and clay create special transitions. the wood comes from the local forest.
spruce, soaped white, was used for every wall and furniture. special details, painted in the local red colour, refine and sharpen them.
together with the owners, the house was created in order to become one thing with the nature, integrating historic trees into the architecture, working with materiality and captureing the strength of the place.

das ensemble rappersbühl arbeitet mit den höhenschichten, der natur, der positionierung und den zwischenräumen. es integriert sich in der landschaft und wird teil davon. die schrägen dächer, eines aus schindeln, eines begrünt, wird teil der landschaft, markieren die architektur und geben den ort, zusammen mit dem historischen baumbestand, identität.
das schräge, begrünte faltdach, das sich richtung hofsituation öffnet, integriert sich als natürliche blumenwiese im ensemble. die landschaft, wächst darüber und bildet eine natürliche einheit. ein integrieren, ein arbeiten mit natur und materialität. die materialität des neuen ensembles kommt vom ort selbst: einerseits das holz von den umliegenden wäldern, die steine für das mauerwerk vom ort, der eingefärbte beton an anlehnung an dem vorgefundenen lehm, mit seiner aus holzbrettern gebürsteten schalung und auch die putze im inneren, lehm, findet man in der erde im aushub. das aushubmaterial wird wieder über die, in den höhenschichten integrierten gebäuden gezogen und begrünt. ein arbeiten mit dem ort.
beim ankommen in rappersbühl erkennt man als erstes die baumallee, die den blick umrahmt. ein erstes volumen, ein konstruktiver holzbau mit holzschindeln in der schräge, führt den blick weiter zu den wiesen und zu der konstruierten landschaftschräge. darunter, unterhalb – in der morphologie die 5 ferienwohnungen. darüber der begegnungsraum mit kamin und die wohnung des bauers. in abstand dazu positioniert der stadel, der brunnen, die sauna und der backofen, die mit dem jahrhundert alten bäumen eine hofsituation bildet und den ort vervollständigt.
das projekt soll ein wohlfühlort sein und ein gefühl spiegeln, was den tag im freien prägt: gepflegte einfachheit und naturverbundenheit, licht, wärme, zeitlosigkeit und das gespür für besonderheiten.
markantestes und größtes gebäude, aufgrund des großen viehbestandes ist der stadel. der holzbau steht hier auf einen betonierten sockel, gibt den kühen auslauf und arbeitet mit details und vertikalen elementen, die einen rythmus in der fassade vorgeben und an die traditionellen details anknüpfen, sie jedoch dennoch zeitgemäß interpretieren.
im hauptgebäude führt ein band mit eingefärbten beton, mit den zuschlägen des ortes, den umriss der architektur, welcher auf den fassaden, trennwänden aus föhre, aus dem hauseigenen wald rappersbühl geschlägert und bearbeitet, aufliegt. diese arbeitet mit vor und rücksprüngen der vertikalen elementen, mit offenen und geschlossenen flächen und farblichen details, wie überdimensionalen regenrinnen. das band knickt am endpunkt, wird zum rückzugsort der bauherrin und wurde komplett aus holz gefertigt. im inneren, ein arbeiten mit natürlichen licht, besonderen atmosphären und raumsituationen, wegräumen.
die materialität holz und lehm schaffen dabei die besonderen übergänge. auch hier das holz aus dem hauseigenen wald. fichte, weiß geseift wurde für alle wände und möbeln verwendet. besondere details mit den historischen rot bemalt, veredeln und schärfen diese. dazu stein und lehm.
mit den bauherren entstand ein bauernhof, der mit der natur eins wird, den historischen baumbestand in die architektur integriert, mit mateiralität arbeitet und die kraft des ortes einfängt.

il complesso di rappersbühl lavora con le curve di livello, la natura, il posizionamento e gli spazi intermedi. si integra nel paesaggio e ne diventa parte. i tetti spioventi, uno in scandole, l’altro rinverdito, diventano parte del paesaggio, segnano l’architettura e, insieme agli alberi storici, danno identità al luogo. il tetto inclinato e verde pieghevole, che si apre verso il cortile, è integrato nell’insieme come un prato fiorito naturale. il paesaggio cresce sopra di esso e forma un’unità naturale. un’integrazione, un lavoro con la natura e la materialità. la materialità del nuovo insieme proviene dal sito stesso: il legno delle foreste circostanti, le pietre per la muratura provenienti dal sito, il calcestruzzo colorato composto con l’argilla trovata nella terra di scavo, con la sua cassaforma spazzolata da assi di legno e anche l’intonaco degli interni con la stessa argilla. il materiale di scavo viene riportato sugli edifici integrati nelle curve di livello. un lavoro con il sito. quando si arriva a rappersbühl, la prima cosa che si riconosce è il viale di alberi che incornicia la vista. un primo volume, un edificio con tegole in legno nel pendio, conduce la vista sui prati e sul paesaggio costruito. sotto, in basso – nella morfologia – i 5 appartamenti per le vacanze. sopra, la sala riunioni con camino e l’appartamento del committente. il fienile, la fontana, la sauna e il forno sono posizionati a distanza, formando una sorta di corte con gli alberi secolari e completando il sito. il progetto vuole essere un luogo di benessere e riflettere una sensazione che caratterizza la giornata all’aperto: semplicità coltivata e vicinanza alla natura, luce, calore, atemporalità e senso di particolarità. l’edificio più appariscente e più grande, a causa del gran numero di capi di bestiame, è lo stadel. qui la costruzione in legno poggia su una base in calcestruzzo, lascia correre le mucche e lavora con dettagli ed elementi verticali che ritmano la facciata e si legano ai dettagli tradizionali, interpretandoli però in modo contemporaneo. nell’edificio principale, un nastro di cemento colorato, con accenti locali, forma il contorno dell’architettura, che poggia sulle facciate, partizioni in pino, abbattuto e lavorato dalla foresta di rappersbühl dell’azienda. questo lavora con sporgenze e rientranze degli elementi verticali, con superfici aperte e chiuse e dettagli colorati come i pluviali sovradimensionati. la fascia si piega alla fine, diventa il rifugio del cliente ed è interamente in legno. all’interno, lavora con la luce naturale, atmosfere speciali e situazioni spaziali, sgomberando. i materiali legno e argilla creano le speciali transizioni. anche in questo caso, il legno proviene dal bosco locale. l’abete rosso, saponato di bianco, è stato utilizzato per tutte le pareti e i mobili. dettagli speciali, dipinti con lo storico colore rosso, li raffinano e li affilano. inoltre, pietra e argilla. insieme ai proprietari, è stato creato un casale che diventa un tutt’uno con la natura, integra gli alberi storici nell’architettura, lavora con la materialità e cattura la forza del luogo.
