The Papstlhof was built in the middle of the Kaltern vineyards in a very exposed, not to say spectacular, location. It overlooks the entire Überetsch valley basin and has an idyllic view of the Dolomites.

The farmstead is designed in two structures (residential house - guest house), which are almost playfully slightly twisted in order to guarantee optimum valley orientation and a high level of privacy for the individual residential units. The tasting room with its charming flair serves as a connecting element. It invites guests to linger and savour the food. The buildings are carefully embedded in the site. Towards the access road they appear closed, towards the valley side they open up surprisingly and create wide-ranging views.

The avant-garde design language of the buildings suggests a contemporary elegance, while the heterogeneous folds of the gabled roofs harmonise with the traditional surroundings. The desired aesthetic standard is reflected in the very high-quality material design of the courtyard, both inside and out. Nothing was left to chance in the design of the outdoor area either. The swimming pool, sauna and communal meeting points - the piazzetta and fireplace - are carefully interwoven into the vineyard.
