The sculpted monolith reveals the simplicity and comfort of living.

Cuted, its core opens dialogues with the natural environment

Dialectics, a rough stone that becomes synesthetically delicate

The harmony of mineral and vegetable constitutes Casa Pedra

Casa Pedra presents the simplicity of living in the countryside in a unique project led by Greg Bousquet and his team when at TRIPTYQUE Architecture, at Fazenda da Grama in Itupeva (SP), for Lar Identidade.

The project was conceived from the absorption of the countryside manifestation and the contemporary desires of inhabiting, to design the concept of a one-story house fluid and sophisticated in every detail. The approximately 750 meters of built area were developed on a large setback plateau, allowing the privacy of each residence.

Promoting the harmony between mineral and vegetable, Casa Pedra exposes its essential dialectic, the raw stone that is made synesthetically delicate and sophisticated from the combined use of natural materials that inspire proportion, harmony, and human scale in every detail.

Upon entering the house, as a cut monolith, openings were carved into its textured shell, showing generous windows and glass doors overlooking the adjacent gardens of the site. Thus evidencing the international fluidity between external and internal, natural and built.

At the heart of the home, the extrusions create the central courtyard, delimiting the social and intimate areas, which house the sensory landscaping. A passive solution for climate comfort, with open circulation areas exposed to natural ventilation and lighting.

The intimate area is located at the front of the house. There are five bedrooms, two bedrooms, two suites, and a master suite.

Next to the car access are the services – an accommodation and a bathroom for employees, the laundry, and the crockery –, while on the opposite side are the linen closet, toilet, and office/TV room with an adjacent wine cellar. The fireplace organizes the social room without dividing the living spaces, also connected with the dining area,  kitchen and gourmet balcony.

Going up the stairs of the outdoor area, a large terrace of organic design gives unrestricted access to the surrounding view, from where it is possible to observe the wide pool and the fire pit.

The creation shapes four houses with different finishes and shades, but with a single concept: A country house with a unique design that expresses the well-being and poetics of living in connection with nature.
