Salty Breeze | VIM studio

The Salty Breeze apartment offers a serene and inviting coastal escape in Neptun, Romania. This project was undertaken for a young family with a child. The apartment, used both for their getaways and short-term rentals it's a fusion of functionality, aesthetics, and an ideal location.

This coastal apartment is compact, with 49 square meters of interior space and an additional 33 square meters of outdoor space spread between a spacious terrace and two balconies. Originally a one-bedroom unit, the layout was modified to create two smaller bedrooms, prioritizing the communal area over the private space.

Design Philosophy: The design is inspired by the Mediterranean, with influences of contemporary minimalism. The color palette is light and airy, reflecting the wife's preference for bright spaces. The goal was to maximize the use of natural light and create an environment that takes full advantage of the coastal views.

The kitchen is the central element of the apartment. It features a striking black glass countertop, providing a dramatic contrast and reflecting the view.

The budget for the project was moderate but was flexible to accommodate high-quality finishes. This allowed us to focus on essential aspects of the design, like the high-end porcelain flooring throughout the apartment.
