Stone, forest, water – these are the three themes that determine the materialization in the Chesa Mulin. The concept for this was developed in 2013/14, and implementation of the first stage began in 2014. Each floor is dedicated to a theme which is reflected in the design. The wallpapers are custom-made for the hotel and photographs were taken by local photographer Susanne Bonaca. The result is a feel-good atmosphere without a lot of frills.

At the start of the 2023 summer season, the Chesa Mulin reopened its doors on time after an intensive renovation phase lasting several months. The goal of the renovation, to make the entire public area on the ground floor more spacious and open, has been completely achieved.

The guest area was enlarged by 50m2 with an extension. A spacious, elegant lobby was created, including an open panoramic seating area with a view of the mountains. A main focus was also placed on the breakfast buffet. Whether chilled, open or warm, the delicacies are presented to the guest in the best possible light. At the same time, the entire dining area was equipped with comfortable furniture and a few high tables. The whole thing is rounded off by a cozy communication area around the panoramic fireplace with comfortable armchairs that invite you to linger.

In keeping with the philosophy of the host family, emphasis was once again placed on natural, local materials such as stone or larch wood.

This renovation marked the final step of a total renovation of the house that was planned over several years.

For almost 40 years, the Chesa Mulin has been run in a friendly and hospitable manner by the second generation. The hotel is a 3-star superior house in the center of Pontresina. Here, Engadin tradition meets modern comfort and naturalness.
