For this, the extension of the building is projected respecting the existing structure and giving it continuity through the same rhythm. The dining area is extended to occupy the area that is free between it, the primary building, and the closing fence of the center, leaving a free bay to formalize a patio that continues to ensure an entry of natural light and adequate ventilation to the dining area and kitchen.

The kitchen grows towards the playground and towards the previous service patio. A new service yard is generated in a small area of the current orchard.

For all this, only existing structure and roofs are respected. The building is planned with a sawtooth roof in most of the development of the plant, except for the area of union with the primary building, where a flat roof is chosen that respects the composition of the adjoining façade.

The access to the area of kitchens, warehouses and changing rooms, and, therefore, of the workers, is located on the main façade, through a small patio, while the access of the users, all students of the center, is made from the patio with two accesses, an entrance and an exit, to avoid collapses.

As for materiality, it seeks to create a relaxed space, following the Montessori philosophy. It is essential to create a quiet and welcoming environment that favors calm and dialogue, avoiding hyperstimulation that can create confusion and agitation in children.

Chromaticism and materiality are used to zone a space and create intuitive routes that help the child feel oriented and welcomed, and therefore, calm.

The ceramic tile is considered as a good option in terms of resistance and hygiene, and, in addition, brings color to a children's space. It is located at low levels and with greater use. The wood is integrated by its warmth and acoustic properties in the highest areas and punctually in pillars.

Function and design form a tandem. Through a relaxed environment, different coatings, finishes and textures, infants are invited to be protagonists and interact with their environment.

Artificial lighting plays an important role, seeking not to saturate the space, a warm and versatile lighting is proposed that accompanies the architecture and plays with it according to one's own needs. Linear LED luminaires are embedded in the wooden panels and generate a rhythm that brings movement to the space.

Montessori style school canteen, where light, chromaticism and materiality take center stage.
