Vivienda Alfahuir is a furnishing and interior design project for a new apartment in Valencia.

A newly-built residence might not offer all the customization options that come with purchasing a property for renovation. However, even so, with a meticulous interior design project and careful furniture arrangement, impressive outcomes can be achieved.

The apartment features an elongated layout commonly found in newly-built homes: an entrance space leading to the living room, an independent kitchen and night area corridor. This corridor includes two individual bedrooms, a shared bathroom, the master bedroom with an en-suite bathroom and a small walk-in closet. A longitudinal terrace with city views spans along the entire residence.

The clients, a young couple with two little children, did not want to undertake any construction work, as the apartment suited their general needs quite well. Nevertheless, it remained a blank canvas devoid of personality, implying that there was still much work to be done to turn it into their home.

We initiated the project months before the keys were handed over, working together to define the home's style according to their preferences, studying the optimal furniture layout based on their needs, and selecting all necessary elements to create a functional and inviting environment: furniture, textiles, lighting, wallpapers, decorative items, all while adhering to the available budget.

Upon key delivery, we verified measurements and commissioned custom-designed furniture. This enabled us to maximize spaces such as the dining room sideboard nestled between pillars, the longitudinal TV cabinet, the children's rooms, and the small walk-in closet.

The style, developed in collaboration with the clients, is elegant yet casual and relaxed. Few elements facilitate day-to-day organization, while furniture provides additional storage, and open spaces that allow the children to play comfortably.

At the entryway, family photographs, a light console table, flowers, and warm lighting extend a welcoming ambiance.

In the living room, a comfortable, generously sized sofa is chosen to accommodate the entire family for movie nights. Above it hangs a beautiful landscape painting by artist Irene Fabra. At the foot of the sofa lies a custom-made, warm and easily cleanable, generous-sized rug that hosts the children's games. To complete the setup, a chaise-lounge pouf is selected, allowing for versatile sofa configurations, along with nestable coffee tables that can be easily rearranged to open up the central space. The TV unit is custom-designed to utilize the entire length of the living room. Similarly, a custom-designed sideboard serves as storage for the dining area and a bookshelf.

In the children's rooms, storage, practicality, and versatility take precedence. The older son's room incorporates shelves, ledges, boxes, and drawers for effortless organization. A composition blending custom design with Ikea modules creates a multifunctional furniture arrangement that serves as storage,  desk,  keyboard area, and headboard. The baby's room initially combines with a remote work area, with the flexibility to adapt as the family's needs evolve.

The master bedroom proposes a simple, calm design, featuring natural fabrics like linen that provide warmth to the space, complemented by a natural olive tree touch. Cheerful family photographs complete the decor, and an exquisite Aromas del Campo ceiling lamp adds a touch of sophistication.

Lastly, the beautiful terrace offers an outdoor space for relaxation, benefiting from excellent orientation that provides soft light throughout the day and stunning city views that expand the indoor space. Furnished with an acacia wood garden set and natural fiber poufs.

With no construction work involved, simply through careful and meticulous design project, this previously vacant new apartment, once a mere blank slate devoid of character, has metamorphosed into a modest yet welcoming home. Its elegance intertwines seamlessly with functionality, ready to evolve alongside their family, promising years of cherished moments.
