Prosa Restaurant | Designer's Mint Studio

It is with great enthusiasm that we present our new project: “Prosa”, the new restaurant run by Chef Rui Paula, awarded two Michelin stars. Located in the heart of Aveiro's first 5-star hotel, this space promises to surprise and delight the most demanding palates.

Designer’s Mint, responsible for the narrative, played a fundamental role in transforming this project into reality. Every detail was carefully thought out and elaborated to create a comfortable, classic environment suitable for the gastronomic experiences that will be provided here. The studio was sensitive to the aesthetics of the existing architecture, a historical jewel from the 18th century, which at one time belonged to the Eça de Queirós family, worked to maintain aesthetic coherence with the hotel, incorporating noble materials, such as darkened oak wood, marble and natural brass.

The color palette of the textiles used, a careful choice by the studio, adds an additional layer that defines the identity of the space and distinguishes it from the rest of the building. Each design element, from the handcrafted ceramic tile on the entry counter to the custom bookcase/wine rack that wraps the space, reflects the vision and artistic care implemented in the space.

The restaurant is divided into three distinct areas: the Entrance/Bar and two dining rooms. The entrance area is an invitation to intimacy, where the counter, accompanied by just four bar chairs, creates a reserved environment for customers.

The dining rooms feature walls covered in textured wallpaper, alternating between tables with marble and wooden tops, square and round, which provide a purposeful dynamic to the environment. Mulligan chairs from the brand "Duquesa & Malvada" were selected, complemented by a sliding bench designed exclusively for the room, which is strategically positioned on the wall adjacent to the hotel's access.

A final touch that deserves to be highlighted is the collaboration with the talented designer/illustrator Carolina Moreno, challenged by Designer’s Mint to create a canvas that enhances the space and greatly contributes to its soul. This work of art integrates harmoniously with the decorative frames designed for the wall where the sofa is located, demonstrating the artistic vision and attention to detail that permeates the entire work.
