a Joined Quartet__Xiangshui culture & art center | A- tah

The county where the project is located is at the northernmost end of the Yangtze River delta city cluster.

As the newest art and culture center with four different programs - the library, the archives center, the activity center and the performing art center - in one joined form, the mission of its architecture is to provide connections while remain independence among them, and to create a new center for public use with imaginative spatial quality.  

 The design internalizes the urban street-scale experience throughout the space from outdoor public corridor system, sunken landscape courtyards, to terrace in the core of the building. The unified horizontal roof, the tilt building walls, defining views pointing to major city axis, together with the delight color of its facade panels, create a brand new image for the county, and strongly encourage linking and diverse use for its citizens to share and explore.
